Better Bunching, Nicer Notching

چکیده
We study the bunching identification strategy for an elasticity parameter that summarizes agents' response to changes in slope (kink) or intercept (notch) of a schedule incentives. A notch identifies but kink does not, when distribution agents is fully flexible. We propose new non-parametric and semi-parametric assumptions on are weaker than currently made literature. revisit original empirical application estimator find our result meaningfully different estimates. provide Stata package implement procedures.
